The Del-Bar

This month’s restaurant review is for The Del-Bar located at 800 Wisconsin Dells Pkwy, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965.

Welcome to The Del-Bar, where history and culinary excellence intertwine to create an unforgettable dining experience. In the heart of Wisconsin, this true supper club stands as a testament to the Wimmer family’s dedication to quality and tradition.

The journey began in 1943 when Jim and Alice Wimmer took a bold leap, acquiring a small roadside restaurant renowned for its char-broiled steaks. Fast forward to 2018, the 75th anniversary of this culinary haven, and the third generation, led by Amy Wimmer, continues the legacy. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a family heirloom passed down through the years.

The menu, a masterpiece in itself, boasts a lineup of perfection. This place is a culinary symphony, hitting all the right notes. The cheese curds w/ honey mustard were a perfect 10, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The shrimp cocktail? A masterpiece. Each bite was a celebration of flavors.

Even the humble side salad earned its place in the spotlight with a solid 10. And those rolls—soft, warm, and deserving of a standing ovation. The halibut, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and fries all hit the high notes, creating a harmonious medley of textures and tastes.

While the burger didn’t quite reach the culinary crescendo of the other dishes, it still earned a respectable 8.5. It’s like the supporting actor in a blockbuster film—you might not steal the show, but you play a crucial role.

The filet mignon was, without a doubt, the star of the evening, deserving a perfect 10. Each succulent bite was a journey to flavor town. The sweet potatoes and mushrooms served as delightful companions, adding depth to an already stellar performance.

In conclusion, this restaurant is a gastronomic delight, a place where every dish is a work of art. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to savor the symphony of flavors once again!
